So I researched online and I called Wildcare today and got some advice. While the Mom and Dad dove were away for a few minutes, I moved the nest to a safer location in my garage, away from the garage door mechanism.
The doves returned shortly and after being a little confused and looking around for a bit they finally found the nests new location (only a foot and a half away) and now they are safely snuggled on top of their eggs, safe from the rain. Before they came back I snapped a picture of their eggs which should hatch in about 13 days or so!
They will be safe in our garage and don’t mind us closing the door at night 🙂 These mourning doves actually are found in garages a lot, as it serves protection from elements and predators. Here is my original post with a picture of the adult dove.
What do you think?
