She was driving from her house about 15 miles away over to the area where I live.. she was on a freeway interchange and some wanna be gang member fucks.. an older one tryina look cool to a really young one i think, were shooting a gun at cars.
A bullet went into her car and ricocheted off the interior into her head. It was probably short and relatively painless. They found her slumped over her steering wheel spun out off the side of the onramp. The night that changed my life forever.
She was on life support for 3 days but there was little to no brain activity that whole time, but before they took her off, her mom called me in, ahead of everyone else waiting to see her, to say goodbye, and hold her hand while her heart was still beating ♥
It took a couple years but the guys responsible were finally tried and convicted. Someone else they shot at another time survived, and identified them. This trial was fairly recently so I’m not sure what the sentence was but I will find out soon.
