I like Beyonce, and I respect her – but I like her non-crunk-ghettofied stuff better.
The only things she’s done in the near past that I really liked were Single Ladies and Halo, and even longer before that Ring The Alarm. Whenever she tries to be ghetto-wild (upgrade u, get me bodied) I don’t feel it. I do like the inbetween stuff a bit tho: Deja Va, Naughty Girl, etc. Overall Halo is one of my recent favorites. I think working with Ryan Tedder really showed some range. It was beautiful.
