I was eWandering around Tumblr today and noticed that a lot of people have something along the lines of ‘I claim no ownership to the pictures I post’ or something similar in their little about me info. But some of those same people put their own URL as the ‘content source’ in the photos they post. Isn’t that a bit contradictory? Not that it’s really important; it just struck me as odd.
People don’t realize that they can put click-through links without content sources. Also they don’t realize that tumblr content-sources you automatically at 3rd level reblogs or further, and if you countent-source yourself, people cant click to get to that post on your page; the link just takes them to your page 1, and then they have to search for it. Content-sourcing is for sourcing OUTSIDE of tumblr, or overriding false source. So yes, I agree, it’s odd.
