A very fair and balanced article about the overexposure of Lady Gaga
The problem is that the same thing that keeps Gaga fresh is what’s now making her tedious. We’re used to a world where musical acts dream up a look and a sound for an album, come out and do a bunch of performances and interviews, release the album, go on tour, and then hibernate for six months to a year (and often longer). After taking time off, they reemerge with another new look and sound, and it’s like we’re discovering them all over again.
This article does not put down or devalue Gaga at all, and it describes exactly what I have been saying, and that’s why I appreciate it. It’s basically emphasizing that she is an extremely talented media powerhouse that could be the next queen of pop, but she needs to take a break, needs some new material, and needs to stretch out “reinvention” to a per album basis, not a daily basis. I am a fan, not hating at all, so if you are overly defensive like so many of her fans, don’t kill me for posting this.
What do you think?
